Candidate Statement
My principal place of residence is in the Western Ward area. I am also standing for Mayor.
I have been a western ward councillor for the last three terms, with two of those terms as Deputy Mayor.
Growing up on a farm and having worked in the tourism industry, Methven and Mid Canterbury have been a perfect fit to bring up my two children over the last 20 years.
I am passionate about representing the people of this area and advocating for our needs.
The wide variety of my council appointments over the years has given me strong governance knowledge and an understanding of council processes.
Priorities going forward are roading, the new water services plan, and keeping our infrastructure up to date, as well as keeping our spending and debt levels in check.
Having strong leadership skills and a reputation for getting things done, I am committed to the role as a way to give back to a community that has given so much to me.
